Template Modified!!!!

u must have seen all those loose endings which were present in my previous template... Finally i got rid of it. Have instead built it up using this new template. Of course, blogger, is giving me a horrible time :( Never faced such difficulties, it repeatedly gives me an error while republishing. Blogged with Flock

while(true) { DoThingsYouDontEnjoy(); }

Hmm, my last post as a 25 year old... after which the age variable increments! I know, my life currently seems to be on a recursive loop, with no dyanmic changes to the code between the open braces and the end braces. But surely this will change :) and hopefully pretty soon. Am working on some resolutions, hopefully they work out better than the ones i set for my previous year. Or maybe not.... who knows!!!! Some persons say that a silence is usually followed by a storm. You think that's true? I hope it is! But for the heck of it, first get rid of this template!!!! Yes, i ll be working on this template from tomorrow. Did i say tomorrow???? I meant...... Am i drunk or what????? At home, drunk, sounds funny does nt it???? Or who knows, may be i am!!!!!

Catch me if you can

If you had been following my vox blog , you would have known that i started reading the book " Catch me if you can " by Frank Abagnale... The book was damn good!!!! Never knew that any book can be so interesting after seeing the movie tons of times. Anyway, this was a real page turner. I lost quite a good amount of sleep, though i consider it a rare commodity. As usual, the book is quite different from the movie. Now i am unsure as to whether the book is the real true story or the movie. Am still awestruck by the many qualities of this guy!!! He paid attention to simple details such as deposit slips which we would not have even bothered giving a second glance. HUH!!!! Blogged with Flock

Concepts and their meanings

While crawling the web as well as while working, i find many concepts. Some which i know/have heard of, and some concepts which i find really interesting or challenging. Yes, i usually dont get enough time to delve into the details about these concepts but i do look these up, and add it to my list of never-ending "TBD"s. Slowly i have realized that i am unable to keep track of these, especially considering the travellling required due to my job, change of locations/machines, etc.etc. I need to get this online sometime. Am working on some strategies to achieve this (Dont mention about the social book marking, etc. Have tried these, but i do want something more). Anyway, i am currently looking up these terms, for now: Thinking Flat - This sounds like a good "once in a while" kind of thinking. Thought of and explained by Thomas L.Friedman , this tries to explain the world as a flat. No he does not try to prove that Copernicus screwed. Instead, he talks about economics...

"Tagging"

Yes, am back. I know it 's really been a long time since i last posted. But was having a busy time. Anyway, was just musing over the current trend, ok, lemme change that last word to "trends" of searching. On one side we are looking at tags based searching. On the other side, we see search continuing as we know it, i.e. plain text based searching, i.e. a crawler crawls the web, retrieves text, and keywords are noted in a database. Any person wanting to search any text types it, and the database retrieves the locations where that text is present. Yes, each of the above has it's own pros and cons. Major players, in the search segment seem to be going in one direction or the other (i dont think taking both up is exactly an option). And looks like pretty soon (around 1 year) down the line, a winner will be chosen, who else "the users", of course. But does that mean the other one will die, or let me word it better "Do you think that the other one is a lo...

Smartie, who me???

Guess who the smart guy is.... Ya, i finally decided to upload a neat photo of me, after that crappy one i had put last time. I guess i do look better off in colour than embossed. ;-)

Where am i?

It gets mighty boring sometimes. Sitting here waiting for the next day to arrive. Trying in vain to prepare your own food. Knowing that you have to eat it, and there is no excuse. Not roaming around Europe even though i have the opportunity (wont work out financially) ... Yes guys this is me typing, and i am in Sweden with not a bloody soul in sight.... :( Man i miss B'lore, though there's better beer here :)

Google Dark v1.0b Released!

Neat look for Google :-) I would use this if it was available. After hours of coding and debugging, Google Dark v1.0b (b for beta) has been released. Still needs a lot of work, but the basics are complete. read more  |  digg story

One million hits without advertising?

Dug up another story, Russell Mcgurk as a part of his "experiment" is trying to reach a million hits without advertising. Sounds cool, right? Full story : Media experiment aims for a million hits . One of those days

Yup, having a bad stint right now. I guess everybody has it. One of those times when you feel sick of what you are doing, what you want to do, and what you dont want to do. But dont know why. Yup it known as a bad time. Some persons call it a "down in the dumps" time, and i have not decided to rename it. So "down in the dumps" it is. I am not happy with this post :(

Crap Work

You'll know what crap work/stress means when you are sitting in a cubicle confined to doing EVERYTHING which is useless, knowing that doing it will no way help you in what you plan to become and being unable to shift out of it for "personal reasons".

And lastly, need to tell sorry to blogger, for using up quite a bit of their resources. Thanks blogger!!!!

Imagine...an internet based world

Was reading "The Google Story", when i got this wierd idea. Consider a stripped down version of Linux, meant only for doing simple things such as browsing the internet, to read from the various drives (which is primarily meant only for storage of personal data), to play music and some single-player games. All the rest provided by the internet. Information searching/Chatting/Mailing/Documentation editing/journal maintenance/daily schedule maintenance/news/rss/shopping, etc. What else will you use for your computer for? Ok, actually i have been working on mainframes for some time now and am getting adjusted to the "dumb terminal" concept. Then i started associating the concept with scenario we are observing all over the net. As a matter of fact this will reduce the power of processing required on the client side also!!! Looks like the world is changing.... for the bettter, yup, i am sure. technorati tags: New internet age , dumb terminal , internet based world

Co-incidence?

"Deadly thing, this inner voice. That's why most folks pretend they can't hear it. Or choose to drown it out. Because listening to it may mean acting in ways which are strange and unacceptable in society." These are just some of the wordings on Rashmi Bansal 's blog. (entry reference " The Inner Voice: Can you hear it? "). I won't be mentioing too much about what's going on in my head after reading this article. But this article does clear up my head. A slow realization creeps which insists that "I am not the only one facing this dilemma. There are others like me.". Have always been a FIRM believer of the old saying "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear". Need to go back to clearing my head. technorati tags: Inner voice , listening to inner voice , help in deciding

PARITRANA

As if there were not enough political parties in India, another new one has been set up. But this does seem to be different. Paritrana has been started by a group of "well educated" (Most of them IITians) indians. Had never delved into politics before, but now i am getting interested. If you have been as dumb as i have been you' ll require the wiki about indian political party: Wikipedia comments technorati tags: politics in india , paritrana , iitians start political party

Finally decided

I have been having these various itch since quite some time. Both about what i am doing here (where i work) and what am i meant to do. Finally, i have decided "I need a job change". I guess IT services industry was never meant to be the right industry for me. Don't get me wrong there, it's not that i wanna quit because i am not getting any interesting work, it's just that I have ideas about life which does not match with what my company is doing. (As amatter of fact, they have some really beautiful concepts which are great to work on). But i have believed web to be the future and now i have started realising that personal dreams do become quite a pain in the neck, when they are ignoired. Huh.... now that i put it on a log, i feel much better. Back to work...
